Yes, you read it right,” turning passion into a profession” is possible. One thinks that one can’t convert his passion into a successful business. Here in this blog, I would love to throw some light by mapping out some of the ways in which a passion can be turned into a profession. One can do what he enjoys and make the right amount of money if he/she has the correct skill set and dedication.
Without passion, you’re doing just a 9-5 job and earning to fulfill your needs and desires. It is a monotonous routine where you feel forced and burdened just by the thought of going to work. You do not work with full efficiency and this limits your creativity.
In this blog below, I will share with you five ways how I turned my interest into a profession and some actionable advice that you might be looking forward too.
- Finding Out Your Niche
People often go wrong here. I feel this is the most crucial step. Figuring out you’re interest for some people might be very easy, but for some people, it could take a considerable amount of time as well.So what I feel is you should take time and figure out what’s that one thing you are most passionate about, and you can keep on talking about it for hours. What I did to figure my niche was, asked myself three questions-
– What are the five things I am passionate about
– What am I good at
– What are the current skills I possessAfter asking these questions to yourself, I’m pretty sure you that would get at least one thing in common and voila! You have figured out your niche.
- Finding out the opportunities in the market
After figuring out your interests, the second most vital step you need to do is find the market scenario for that particular field. When you see a particular market, you get to know various aspects involved with it.It would be best if you found out which product in the market has the most demand, how is the general reaction of the people in the market, etc. Likewise, it would eventually lead you to an answer to your question,” What’s that thing that people want and am I capable enough to provide that ?”If you are competent enough to ensure that, then it’s tremendous, or else you need to develop your skills.
- Enhancing Your Skills
It’s a game-changer for you; if you know the importance of learning, then you would agree to me that learning new things every day will definitely help you grow. And eventually, you stand out of the crowd.To have a good payout each month, you need to keep learning and adapting to the new trends of your particular segment.I firmly believe that one should always be a lifetime learner and should also be keen to learn new things.The day you stop learning and start believing that you know everything, let me tell you that you are highly mistaken. There is no limit to learning!
- Goal Setting
After performing /doing all the steps stated above, you need to set up goals for yourself. The goals and objectives may vary from person to person. For example, for me, the aim is to empower people, and my goal is to reach up to 3k people by the end of 2020.A lot of people get confused between their goals and objectives. Your goals are subsets of the objective. Let’s break this further. You aim to reach a certain level at a point in time is your objective, but your goals are the catalyst to achieve them.Make sure you always set up a goal that can be achievable, setting up a goal that you can’t achieve would, in turn, make you demotivated and dishearten you!
- Having a Flexible Mindset
By this, what I meant was, you should be focused and determined to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. And it would be best if you don’t forget the bigger picture that’s life, which has a lot of things stored for you.Creating a career that you are passionate about is not impossible, but one should also realize the fact that it can be difficult, but it’s not impossible to achieve.You may face many challenges in your journey. Always stay open to criticism and do grab as many opportunities as you can. Most importantly, have the right circle of friends because of the famous saying:
